There is some long-standing precedent for Chapoutier’s presence in Portugal – this well-known name has had connections in the South (with Monte d’Oiro) for some time, but there the focus is more typically Rhone grapes. The Bento & Chapoutier collaboration Ex Aequo, however, often had lots of Touriga Nacional – but in a different region. So, they aren’t entirely Portuguese newbies. This is an interesting entrant, intriguing and a bit different.
