The Quinta do Carmo estate is situated in the Alentejo region, a few kilometres from Estremoz. It is a typically Alentejan property, with a total of over 1,000 hectares, of which 100 hectares are olive trees, cereals, plantations of oak trees and forests. After a long joint venture with the prestigious Lafitte Rothschild group, Bacalhoa Vinhos de Portugal acquired the entire Quinta do Carmo Estate in 2008, which, at that point, became the centre of winemaking and production centre for all of the Alentejan Bacalhôa Group wines. Recent vintages have produced unique wines that are a blend of terroir and wine-making skill.
