Description

Weinlaubenhof Kracher is located in the village of Illmitz. Thewinery has acquired an excellent reputation in botrytis wines world. In 1981, Alois Kracher took over the wine production from his fatherand received much recognition internationally after, died in 2007, he isstill regarded as one of the world’s greatest dessert wine makers.Gerhard Kracher (son of Alois Kracher), the 30-year-old youngman carries forward. This includes not only the world-renownedwinery, its sought-after wines with outstanding ratings, and theresponsibility to continue to produce excellent wines, but also thespirit, strength, firm will and consequence that Gerhard inherited fromhis famous father. Gerhard received the 2009 International WineChallenge award “Sweet Winemaker of the Year” and all his wineswere honored with Gold, Silver and Bronze medals.

The 2012 Cuvée Beerenauslese blends 60% Welschriesling with 40% Chardonnay, and contains the grapes whose concentration was not high enough for a TBA. Quince, pineapples and white peach aromas along with citrus flavors on the nose lead to a sweet, well-concentrated, really fresh and piquant palate with a pure a beautifully salty finish. This is very well structured and matched with many kinds of food dishes. Wine Advocate 93
