Description

The Frey family, owners of exceptional wine estates Within the Frey family, the passion for wine has been passed on as a precious heritage or generations, and today Caroline Frey acts oth as a chief winemaker and a managing director. Owners of one of the most beautiful Champagne vineyards, very important shareholders in the prestige Maison Billecart-Salmon, proprietors of the classified growth Château La Lagune, they keep on cultivating excellence with the mythical Paul Jaboulet Aîné Domaines and their famous vine yards of Hermitage, Côte Rôtie, Condrieu, and Châteauneuf du Pape.

There are two whites from Hermitage. I always find a Burgundian slant in the Chevalier de Sterimberg cuvée, and the 2014 Hermitage Blanc Le Chevalier de Sterimberg offers tons of minerality in a backwards, tight, medium to full-bodied package that emphasizes finesse and purity. Flint, gunpowder, white peach and white flowers all emerge from the glass of this chiseled, rich and layered effort that can be drunk anytime over the coming decade or more. Wine Advocate 93
