In contrast to the expressiveness of the prior 1ers this is quite reserved, indeed to the point that only aggressive swirling liberates the intensely earthy wild dark currant suffused nose. There is excellent volume to the notably ripe medium weight flavors that exude a fine minerality on the focused, powerful and muscular finish that is punchy but not really rustic. I like this moderately structured but balanced effort as it's very Gevrey in basic character plus it offers solid depth.AM90-93
