CASARENA (translated as “Sand House”) Winery & Vineyards is named after the earth-toned stucco exterior of the winery located on Brandsen Street, in the heart of Perdriel district in Luján de Cuyo region. Approximately 20 minutes away from downtown Mendoza, this viticulture project began in 2007 after the rebuilding of a century-old family winery.

The 2016 Malbec Lauren's Vineyard was produced with grapes from the vineyard that names it, a 30-year-old plot in the cooler part of Agrelo at 900 meters in altitude. It matured in new and used barriques for 12 months. It feels fresher than the Malbec from Jamilla, with a mixture of berry and aromatic herb aromas and a medium-bodied palate. It has fine tannins and a sleek texture, with focused flavors. With time, it developed a note of leather and earth. 36,000 bottles produced. Wine Advocate 91+ (2016)
