A leafy, green, stalky nose. The tobacco-infused palate is quite fleshy upon the entry but by the finish you realize this has quite sturdy tannins with better concentration than Clos du Marquis 1994 that was tasted alongside. Austere but in a traditional Bordeaux way. A very fine Clos du Marquis that is drinking now. Wine Advocate 88-89
