Description
The boutique firm of the Ogier family didn’t perform any estate bottling until the 1980s. Before then, most of their grapes were sold to the much larger Guigal or Chapoutier negociant companies. Their 6+ acres of vineyards are spliy between the Cote Blonde and Cote Brune region. Michel’s son Stephane is more or less in charge now in the winery.
The 2018 La Rosine Syrah hints at violets and tar on the nose, then delivers fleshy purple fruits on the medium to full-bodied palate. It's plump and silky, perhaps a bit too soft to be truly profound, but it should prove easy to drink over the short term.
