The winemaking tradition of the Grier family began in the 1970′s with cousins Jeff and Simon Grier qualifying as oenologist and viticulturist respectively. Their pursuit of winemaking excellence found a home in 1983 with the purchase of the Villiera vineyards in the Stellenbosch Region. Today, award-winning winemaker Jeff Grier crafts a range of wines characterized by a strong reflection of Villiera's unique terroir, maintaining the distinct aromas and flavours of the different varietals.

Sourced from three blocks including 40% bush vines, the 2014 Chenin Blanc has a crisp pineapple and citrus-scented bouquet that is lively and vivacious. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannins, touches of orange rind and dried mango with good definition on the finish. You would not ask for anything more at this price. Wine Advocate 88 (2014)
