Pierre and Françoise Santz-Clouet own nine hectares in Bouzy and Ambonnay. Chrming and full of ideas, their son Jean-François is striving toward Bollinger in style and quality. Sometimes he succeeds. These wines have rapidly enjoyed great success. The rare vintage wines come from old vines right next to Bollinger's ungrafted vines in Bouzy. The 2004 Brut Millesime is 100% Pinot Noir done entirely in steel. A focused, vibrant wine, the 2004 impresses for its sheer energy and cut. The breadth of the Pinot comes through on a finish laced with sweet red berries, crushed flowers and stones. This is a gorgeous wine from Clouet. Dosage was around 7-8 grams per liter. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019. Wine Advocate 92 (2004)
