Description

Champagne Marie Courtin is located in the village of Polisot in the Cote des Bars, in the southern part of the Champagne region. With its slightly warmer temperatures, this area is particularly prized for its Pinot Noir grapes. Combined with the Kimmeridgian limestone sub soils, the champagnes retain freshness similar to Chablis.

Extra Brut Efflorescence is also 100% Pinot, but here the wine is fermented and aged in neutral oak. The Efflorescence is marvelous in the way it captures the essence of this great vintage. Warm, toasty aromas lead to intense, beautifully textured fruit that flows through effortlessly to the long, creamy finish. Sweet spices add the final layers of complexity. This is a highly promising effort. Wine Advocate 92
