Description

The 2012 Tito Zuccardi is named after Sebastian Zuccardi’s grandfather who created the winery. The grapes are sourced from La Consulta and it is a blend that changes with each vintage. In 2012, it was 66% Malbec, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Ancelotta (an Italian grape from Emilia Romagna with high color and acidity) and 10% Caladoc (a cross between Garnacha and Malbec from the south of France). Part of the whole-clusters are used for the fermentation in cement vats. The nose is clean, subtle, and elegant, with well-integrated oak as well as faint notes of spices and smoke. The palate is elegant and the texture of the tannins clearly reflects the chalky origin of the soils. This calcareous blend offers great purity, freshness, and personality. It is drinking well and should also age. Drink now-2019. Wine Advocate 92
