The 2012 Max Reserva Syrah is produced from grapes grown on volcanic and slate soils and has a smoky character mixing the aromas from the toasty barrels and those from the grape skins. The wines in this Max Reserva line seem to have a more commercial profile, with marked notes of oak, a soft palate and good balance, which makes them easy to drink. Drink now-2016.
