Description

The Crianza 2017 Asúa is a village wine from Haro, where traditionally the wines needed a longer time in barrel to better integrate the higher acidity in the zone. It fermented in small stainless steel vats for 18 days followed by malolactic in concrete and aging in second use French barriques for 18 months. It has a very expressive nose with surprising freshness and even a touch of red fruit. The oak is very subtle and in the background with some spices. It's aromatic and has a lot of finesse. The palate is juicy and balanced, with the same freshness found in the nose and a dry, serious and chalky finish. Delicious. I love it. For Urrutia, this would be the original by-the-glass wine that was drunk in the bars in Haro. The label is a painting from the Spanish artist Arroyo painted in 2005. 40,000 bottles produced. It was bottled in March 2020. This will be a Vino de Pueblo (village) from Haro. Wine Advocate 92 (2017)
