As usual, the 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru is a blend of Craipillot and Perrières—and, as I've written before, Perrières seems to dominate the cuvée's personality. Bursting with aromas of cherries, raspberries, peonies and orange rind, framed by hints of truffle and espresso roast, it's medium to full-bodied, lively and precise, built around filigree tannins and bright acids. Open and expressive, this cuvée is especially elegant this year. Wine Advocate 92-94
