Description
Philippe Dhalluin remembers tasting this vintage on his first day at Mouton. A blend of 54% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, the 2001 Clerc Milon has a much fresher, more vital nose than the 2000 with dark berry fruit, clove and bay leaf notes. It has fine definition and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with crisp acidity, good grip and plenty of weight and dimension towards the slightly rustic finish. All in all, this is an impressive Pauillac in terms of length and power and should continue to drink well for a decade. Drink now-2025.
