Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat has extensive vineyard holdings based around the Noëllat heartland of Vosne-Romanée and covering all the villages from Nuits St Georges to Chambolle-Musigny. Charles Hudelot arrived at the domaine to take over from his grandfather Alain in 2008, assisted also by Vincent Munier who has been working there since 2005.

The 2015 Vosne Romanee 1er Cru les Suchots has more personality and terroir expression than the Vosne-Romanée Beaumonts at the moment: more detailed and mineralité sutured into the precise black cherry and redcurrant scents. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannin, tightly wound but containing plenty of energy. With impressive length and persistence in the mouth, this is bound to be a top Suchots for long-term ageing, evincing the quality of the terroir. What a fabulous wine in the making. WA94-96
