The Moreau family is not a newcomer in Chablis, having started a wine business in 1814 and sold their operation to a Canadian firm in 1980s that ultimately went into another big negociant’s hand. In 2002, with the remaining 12.5ha of prime vineyards, Christian and his son Fabien established a new domaine with modern facility. The majority of the land is of Grand Cru status and the average age of the vines are above 40 years old. The result is naturally superb and a must for serious Chablis lovers.

A slightly riper if modestly less tropical nose reflects just enough Chablis character to be persuasive. The round, rich and more voluminous flavors possess good punch and concentration while delivering better depth and length on the somewhat drier finish. AM87-89 (2016)
