Located in the village of Orschwihr and established in 1691, Domaine Valentin Zusslin is a biodynamic estate now managed by 13th generation brother and sister team of Jean-Paul and Marie Zusslin. The vines are planted on the slopes of the Bollenberg, Clos Liebenberg and Grand Cru Pfingstberg. In 1997 the domaine converted to biodynamic viticulture. Most of the work in the vineyard and in the cellar is done by hand, this allows the grapes to express the full potential and the unique terroirs of the Domaine.

The 2012 Riesling Clos Liebenberg Monopole offers clear and matured fruit aromas (nectarines, peaches) on the pure and stony nose and is more intense and concentrated compared to the 2013. Intense and elegant on the palate, fleshy and juicy and slightly sweet due to the fruit ripeness this again is a harmoniously round, perfectly balanced Liebenberg Riesling with finesse and and a very god finish. „We had a good maturity and a nice must in 2012 which was a less complicated vintage compared to 2013 when we had some rain during the harvest," says Marie Zusslin who considers 2012 as "a very well balanced vintage."
