The Torres family has made wine in the ancient Catalan town of Vilafranca del Penedes since the 17th century, but it was not until the late 19th century that Don Jaime Torres established the house of Torres whose wines are now enjoyed around the world. Torres family, generation after generation, has transmitted the secrets of winemaking and love of the land. This tradition, allied with a vision of the future, have turned Torres into a great exporting company currently trading in more than 120 countries. Right from the earliest days Torres has been honored by the recognition of their work by experts, critics and consumers: the most important winery by Wine Spectator in 2000, Miguel A. Torres awarded Man of the year in 2002 by Decanter, and the winery was awared No. 1 Europan Wine Brands in 2011 by Drinks International.

This Tempranillo is very good value. It was aged 12 months in oak producing the spicy notes and vanilla that accent aromas of ripe red fruit. There's an elusive note of leather underlying the sweet spice and tangy fruit. It's nicely structured, dry and medium bodied with perceptible tannin and refined acidity. The wine finishes tasty and fruity.
