Description

In 1989 an enduring legacy was born. A passion, vision and commitment to produce the world's best Pinot Noir led Ken and Grace Evenstad to Oregon in 1989. They founded Domaine Serene in the Dundee Hills located in the North Willamette Valley, where Oregon Pinot Noir began and where its heart remains. Ken & Grace purchased 42 acres atop the renowned Dundee Hills, in Yamhill County, Willamette Valley, Oregon.

The 2012 Chardonnay Evenstad Reserve was picked October 10-18: a narrow picking window according to winemaker Erik Kramer. It is 100% whole-cluster fruit and matured in 25% new wood and less lees-stirring than in recent vintages. There is plentiful richness on the nose with notes of clear honey, white peach and subtle marzipan scents. The palate is medium-bodied with a very harmonious texture, a gentle spicy note on the entry, with dried lemon peel and lemongrass enlivening the finish while retaining admirable focus. Excellent.
