Benoit Marguet is one of the leaders of the organic revolution in Champagne, and all of his estate vineyards are in conversion to biodynamic farming. He has returned to plowing the vineyards with a horse rather than with a tractor, as the horse hooves aerate the soil while a tractor compacts the soil. In the cellar, he is returning to wood as a fermentation vessel rather than stainless.

Produced from fruit purchased from Godmé, the 2015 Verzenay Grand Cru bursts with aromas of crisp yellow orchard fruit, warm bread, honeycomb and toasted bread. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and incisive, it's long and lively. Marguet characterizes it as "charismatic" when contrasted with the "subtlety" of Aÿ. Wine Advocate 93 (2015)
